I am a slacker

I guess it's about time I catch up since Jake has been home for over a month now! Let's see, where to start. Jake is obviously home and we're all loving it. He didn't go back to work until just this past Monday so I got used to having him here all the time. Lacey took a little while to really warm up to him but she's back to loving daddy when she's happy and mommy when she's a grump. Lucky me!
Hails started 3rd grade and she is doing really well. Her teacher is super nice and she isn't having any issues with reading this year. She even reads chapter books now. Captain Underpants is her favorite. I don;t care what she reads as long as she does it! OK, maybe I care a little but Captain Underpants is all right!
We have had the never ending cold at our house! It started with the girls, came back to Lacey and moved on to me and Jake got a little bit of it. Poor Lacey was coughing so hard she would throw up...every night. It wasn't fun. She ended up having an ear infection so after a few days of antibiotics she was a lot better. OOH! We have some big Lacey news. We are almost pacifier free. I know, I know she's over 2! I told myself I wouldn't let her have it after she turned 1 but she loved it so much! Now we've cut it down to bed time and she's been doing great! Next stop...potty training.
I got the results from my last procedure. I knew it wasn't cancer which is awesome but didn't bother to really listen to the rest. The biopsy they took had cells called CIN 3. I guess that's their grade or something. It's the grade right before cancer which is scary but it's not cancer so phew. Well, the cells went beyond the margins of the biopsy they took so November I get to go back and start the whole process over again. Yuck. At least Jake's home now.
We have been house hunting for about a month now. The area we want to live in is pretty expensive. You don't get a lot of bang for your buck. You don;t get much of anything. It's a small town but the school is fantastic so houses go pretty quick. There's been 2 or 3 that have for sale signs on them but when we call the sale is already pending. The search continues! We may have to settle for a town over with another decent school. As long as the girls don't have to go to school in Amsterdam, I'm happy.
I guess that's all the updates for now. Hopefully I'll have an update soon about our new house wherever it may be.

Yeah, I'm so glad Jake is home now. How great for all of you. And good luck with all your testing but it will be so much better for you to deal with all that now that Jake is back. What area are you looking in for homes?
