Happy New Year!

Happy 2010! What a year 2009 was. Amazingly, the Smathers clan made it through with our sanity mostly intact. I don't know that it was all there to begin with so I think we did pretty good.
The biggest happening of 2009 was of course, the return of Jake from Iraq!!! He's home and here to stay whether he likes it or not. It's been a bit of adjusting and everybody had to get used to each other again but it didn't take long for everything to go back to what it was pre-deployment. As soon as he came back, Kayla moved all the way to Washington! We miss her a LOT. 2009 was filled with soccer games, dance recitals, homework, too much shopping and a huge water slide.
2010 will hopefully be filled with less of me! I made some kind of sarcastic comment about why I wouldn't do a weight loss challenge which somehow turned on me and here I am, counting calories and sweatin to the oldies with Richard Simmons. I needed a good kick in the pants. I also have a visit with the endocrinologist this coming week so hopefully I'll be put on the right dose of synthroid for my darn thyroid. That's not helping me at all.
So, the goals for 2010 are
1. be less fat
2. have another baby (I know that usually would contradict with number 1 but my body looks and feels so much better pregnant.)
3. buy a house! We are ready to be out of here and the girls REALLY need their own room
4. convince Lacey that sometimes princesses like to wear pants
5. convince Lacey that princesses like to go to the bathroom on the potty
6. have more patience when I tell Hailey the same thing I've been repeating for 10 minutes
7. have more quality "family time" that doesn't have anything to do with the tv
8. convince the navy that Robb and Kayla are really needed in Saratoga (that one might not be so easy)
9. see the pacific ocean
10. remember at least half of these
Wish me luck!

Happy New Year! I must say your goals made me smile, especially the one about being more patient after you had repeated the same thing ten times. I know that feeling!!!

Great new year's resolutions. My new thing for 2010 is to lose weight too. I've started my zumba dvd's a little over a week ago. I really enjoy them and am starting to feel better. Just got to now work on the eating healthy thing. Hopefully this book i'm reading will help me get there.

You guys need to drive out here in the summer(I'm assuming thats cheaper than flying with 4) And we can go to La Push! Not only would we get to see the pacific ocean, but we could be dorky twilight fans!
